Some more quilts Ive made...

So this will be my show and tell on line...I used to be in a quilt guild in Fallbrook, Ca. I learned so much when I lived there, in fact that is when I became a quilter. In 1990, we had just moved to Fallbrook after living in Henderson for one year trying to get going in my father in law's dental practice. The practice had been successful, but the year before we came to work, they lost a very important dental contract with a union, so after a year of trying to make it work, the practice went bankrupt and we had to move. We had no where else to go and no money to open a practice. My brother was in the navy and suggested that Doug sign up as a dental officer. They were thrilled to get him since he was already a trained specialist in prosthodontics. Thats how we ended up in California at Camp Pendleton. I had no friends and was rather miserable, and had 4 children to take care of, so I looked around and found a class through the college extension service of beginning quilting and the rest is history! I had a marvelous teacher, Nan Losee, and joined the guild from there and have been quilting for 20 years now! Nan was the best most patient teacher I could have dreamed of, and in the guild there were other exceptionally talented published quilters. It was a blessing for me to find that class! Here's a couple of quilts I made for no apparent reason, just the fun of it, and I was in the guild when I made them :-)thanks for indulging me!

  1. I like reading your blog. I also like the blue toenails sticking out from below the quilts in some of the pictures :)
