Since I got my room ready, I hadn't really sewn anything, and I couldnt decide what to start on that I could get done kind of quickly because my last few weeks of summer are going to be so chopped up with things to do, so I grabbed a charm pack I had sitting on the shelf and thought I may as well sew something so Im not wasting time. The charm pack is from Sanae Oz collection (if I'm remembering correctly) and I decided to sew just half square triangles and then sew them in rows. Thats my first picture.
The next picture is on the design wall, my temporary one until I get the bigger pieces of flannel that I ordered to cover most of the wall. I was going to set them just straight, and whip it up really quick just so I could be at one with my sewing machine...I had missed it so much during my room makeover!
Then I decided that was kind of dull so I decided to set them on point, but the problem was I needed a few more squares to make the quilt the size I wanted, and I needed some yardage to make the setting triangles, and then I needed something cute for a border....and so on and so on and so on....but I did finally decide that was what I wanted to do, and the third picture is the quilt so far, Im just waiting for the other yardage to arrive in the mail. I have no plan for the quilt, just the plan to make it and then move on to the one I really want to make, a black and tan and cream colored quilt...I will post a pic of that one's progress too, when I get started. That will be in about 10 days since Im going to girls camp for a week and then on to a family reunion--welcome to my busy, chopped up summer!
I love it! Can't wait to see it finished. I have extra yardage and a charm pack if you want to borrow it until your fabric gets here! I loved working with OZ, it is so bright and cheery!!
